Several years ago, I went to my local dentist to have my teeth cleaned. As I sat in the waiting room, I read a pamphlet about a new teeth whitening procedure that the dentist was now offering to his patients.
After my teeth were clean, I realized they would look a lot better if they were whiter. I decided to go for the teeth whitening procedure at that moment. That’s when I found out that I first had to make another appointment three weeks in advance and the cost was $600, plus the cost of another office visit! Even with the high cost of the procedure and having to book three weeks in advance, I decided to invest the money in my smile and just go for it.
When the day for my teeth whitening finally came, I got there 10 minutes before my appointment. However, like all dental appointments I still waited an additional 30 minutes to actually sit in the dentist chair and get the procedure started. The first thing the dental hygienist did was quickly clean my teeth and then inserted a cheek retractor in my mouth to keep it wide open to protect my lips and gums from coming in contact with the whitening gel. After painting the whitening gel on my teeth and sitting in front of their special light for several intervals of 20 minutes each, the procedure was completed. The entire visit, from the time I entered the dentist office to the time I left, took over 2 hours! My teeth were very sensitive for several days afterward but I was extremely pleased with the results.
Unfortunately, after a year or two of being a daily coffee drinker, the whiteness of my teeth started to fade. My only option was to spend another $600 to have this procedure repeated at my dentist office or be happy with the faded color of my teeth. I also had the option of using over the counter white strips, but that takes weeks!
At this time I thought, “there has to be a safe, quick and affordable teeth whitening system that does not have to be administered by a dentist.” After all, the dentist obviously has to inflate his price due to the high expenses of running a dental office, right?
That thought led to the inspiration to create Lightning Smile, LLC. I started to research the teeth whitening industry and figure out how to create a company that would allow this procedure to be self-administered in a trusted environment. I started testing the gels, mouth trays and LED lights until the perfect combination was created. Once we were certain that our products were safe, effective and affordable, we decided to move forward with a creative, cost effective and revenue generating distribution plan like no other in this industry.
It has recently become commonplace to see teeth whitening kiosks at your local shopping mall. At Lightning Smile, LLC we do not believe that most people are comfortable being on display in the middle of the local mall. In addition to being subjected to shoppers watching you get your teeth whitened, the procedure is often performed by employees that have little or no training in the teeth whitening industry.
Lightning Smile, LLC decided that potential clients would feel more comfortable in a setting such as their local day spa or nail, hair or tanning salon. The self-administered teeth-whitening system can be overseen by someone they already know and trust for other personal care treatments. Introducing a new cosmetic procedure to loyal clientele allows the establishment to enhance their array of services while increasing their revenue stream with little or no additional overhead.
